Ruth Ann has been a Skillman member all her life. In fact, she met her husband at church over 40 years ago. Her family, members of Skillman too, have guided, encouraged, and provided a strong foundation for her faith journey and her work with our community preschool.

Ruth Ann is the director of the Skillman Child Development Center and as she is quick to point out, fell into ministry by accident – no formal training, no clarion call. CDC began as a part-time job and in the course of time, she has been empowered to grow and mature as part of the Skillman ministry staff. And as she notes too, has been the recipient of abundant blessings from our church and CDC community.

Sharon grew up as a member of the Midway Hills Disciples of Christ church here in Dallas. It was of utmost importance to her Mom and Dad that Sharon and her 5 siblings be raised in the Christian faith. Sharon was led to Skillman Church through her 2 ½ year residency at Grace Place Properties, The Nehemiah Project. At Skillman, Sharon supports our senior adult ministry and has recently assumed the duties of administrative assistant.

In 2007, Dale began his first relationship with God through Ministries 101. He had not been to church in 35 years, but was invited by Chuck and Kristin Adair to attend a Sunday morning service at Skillman Church of Christ. He was unsure about what to expect or if he would even be accepted. “That Sunday morning, many came and talked with me and made me feel so welcomed. I knew right away that this was a church that really cared.” He soon had many valuable relationships with people who helped him to grow in his new life with Christ. Since that first Sunday, Dale has been blessed beyond belief and is so thankful to have a church family and relationship with Jesus his Savior. In September of 2015, Dale began serving as the Facilities Manager at Skillman Church of Christ.

Michael found his way to Skillman Church via the Texas Prison System. He’d never been to church before and didn’t really know what to expect. What he found at Skillman was a lot of love and a place to call home. Today, he is a full-time employee at Skillman Church as the Facilities and Maintenance Technician. Isn’t God great!
