David Vanderpool, Elder

David Vanderpool was born in Dallas, Texas, and attended schools in the Dallas area and was graduated from high school in Abilene, Texas.  He received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Abilene Christian College, Abilene, Texas, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.  He completed a residency in Surgery in the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School program and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.  After serving as a medical officer in the United States Air Force, he returned to Dallas to practice Surgery, officing near Baylor University Medical Center.

He married Marjorie Louise Martin and they have one son, Dr. David Martin Vanderpool, a surgeon in Brentwood, Tennessee, and three grandchildren, David, John Mark and Jacklyn Ann.
