John Janak, Elder

John Janak was born in Weimar, Texas and moved to Dallas in 1946. He graduated from Highland Park High School.  He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M in 1957.  Following graduation he served as an officer in the Air Force for two and one-half years.  He was employed at Texas Utilities as an Engineer/Manager/Company Officer from 1960 until retirement in 1997.

John is married to Marietta Pratt who was born into the Skillman congregation.  They have two children.  Jay lives in Carrollton, TX.  Katie and Greg Waters have three children, Kyle, Kendall and Zachary and live in Allen, Texas.

John is President of the Board of Boles Children's Home and an active Dallas Zoo Volunteer.  He has been a member at Skillman since 1960.
